DeckSpace Remote — Support

Help for the DeckSpace Remote app for iPhone. Last updated 30 August 2026.

DeckSpace Remote is the free iPhone companion to DeckSpace on your computer. There is no account, no in-app purchase, and nothing to buy inside this app. Pair it with the DeckSpace app on your own Mac, or tap Try the demonstration on the first screen to look around without a computer.

Looking around without a Mac

On the first screen, tap Try the demonstration. That opens the whole app against sample data compiled into the app itself — home, feed, board, missions, panes, approvals, Order work, Talk to Atlas, Tools, Settings, and Screen. A bar labelled Demonstration stays on every screen; tap it to leave. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored.

Pairing with your Mac

• On the Mac, open DeckSpace → Settings → Remote, turn it on, and show the pairing QR code.
• On the phone, scan that code (or type the eight-digit code). The Mac chooses what this phone may do: watch, approve, order, talk, type into a pane, take a screenshot.
• The camera is only used to read that QR code. You can decline it and type the code instead.

What the phone can do

• Needs you — approvals waiting on the Mac, decided from the phone.
• Panes — live agent output. If the device was granted Drive, tap 1–9 / y / n to send that line, the same as typing it at the desk. Arrow-key menus still need the computer.
• Screen — a still of the Mac display. Pinch to zoom.
• Talk to Atlas — type a question, or hold to speak. Speech is transcribed on your Mac.
• Order work — send a job to the Mac. Any dollar figure shown is an estimate of what your AI provider will bill your own account for that work. Nothing is charged through this iPhone app.

Permissions this app asks for

• Camera — only to read the pairing QR. Optional.
• Microphone — only if you talk instead of typing. Audio goes to your Mac and is not kept on the phone.
• Local network — so the phone can reach DeckSpace on your own network.
• Notifications — only if you turn them on in Settings. They are produced on the phone; there is no push server.

Reaching the Mac from outside your network

DeckSpace can optionally use a relay so the phone can reach the Mac when you are away from home. It is off unless someone turns it on at the Mac. The phone always tries the direct path first. Details, including what the relay can see: the privacy policy.

Purchases

This iPhone app is free. It does not sell anything, does not unlock anything, and does not take payment. DeckSpace on the computer is separate desktop software. A status such as “that computer’s DeckSpace subscription is not active” is a report from the Mac, not an offer, and there is no way to buy anything from the phone.

Something not working

• Cannot pair — confirm Remote is on and listening in DeckSpace on the Mac, that both devices are on the same private network or Tailscale, and that you are scanning a fresh QR (codes expire after a few minutes).
• A screen is missing — that permission was not granted when this phone paired. Pair again from the Mac and tick the scope you need.
• The demonstration is enough to see every screen — you do not need a Mac to review or to try the app.
