No. Claude Accounts is an independent utility made by DeckSpace. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic. It simply launches the official Claude desktop app you already installed, with an isolated data folder per account.

Yes — new in v3.0. Claude for Windows is now shipped as a Windows package rather than a plain installer, and it installs somewhere older versions of this launcher did not look, so they reported "Claude for Windows was not found". Pasting the path in by hand could not fix that either: a packaged app cannot be started by running its .exe — it starts without package identity and closes again immediately, which looks like the launcher doing nothing.

v3.0 finds the package and starts it the way Windows intends, with each account’s own profile intact. If you have both an old-style Claude folder and the packaged one, the old one is still used, so nothing changes for you. Press [T] in the text launcher for a self-test that says which one it found.

You need your own Claude account for each profile you add (free or paid — that's between you and Anthropic). Claude Accounts doesn't create accounts, share logins, or change any limits; it just lets each of your accounts have its own window.

No. Owning more than one Claude account — say a work one and a personal one — is allowed; what Anthropic's terms prohibit is sharing a single login between people or trying to evade usage limits. Claude Accounts does neither. It simply opens the official Claude desktop app you already installed, pointed at a separate data folder per account you legitimately own (the same way browsers run separate profiles). It never automates Claude, intercepts its traffic, shares credentials, or touches any limit — so there's nothing for it to flag. You remain responsible for following Anthropic's terms on each account.

No. It never touches the Claude app or your existing data. Each added account lives in its own folder (ClaudeAccounts/<name>) and launches the official app pointed at that folder. Delete the folder and the account profile is gone.

Two double-clickable launchers in one zip. Start with "Claude Accounts.bat" — a plain-text menu that uses no PowerShell at all, so it runs even on locked-down work PCs. "Claude Accounts (graphical).bat" is an optional dark pop-up picker that does need PowerShell. Both are plain text — open them in Notepad and read every line before running them.

Yes — new in v3.1, and it is beta. It covers Ubuntu 22.04+ and Debian 12+ (x86-64), matching what Anthropic's own Linux desktop app supports. Each account gets its own isolated profile exactly as on Mac and Windows — verified with two accounts signed in and running side by side against Claude Desktop for Linux, with your default Claude profile left untouched.

One honest limitation. Linux does not have the sign-in helper the Windows build has. On Linux the system hands a claude:// sign-in link to Claude's default window rather than the account you started it from, so sign in to one account at a time with the other windows closed. Once an account is signed in it stays signed in, so this only affects the first sign-in for each account. If a Linux sign-in helper would be useful to you, tell us — that is how the Windows one got built.

Yes — new in v2.8. Any account can open a terminal running Claude Code signed in as that account, so your work and personal CLI sessions keep separate logins, history and settings and can run at the same time. On the Mac it is on each account row (and in the menu bar); on Windows it is [C] in the text launcher or the Code… button in the graphical one.

You need Claude Code installed. Two honest notes: the first session for each account asks you to sign in once (a desktop login does not carry over to the terminal), and the VS Code extension is not covered — Anthropic's extension ignores the setting this relies on. This changes nothing about your usage limits; each account is your own Claude account.

On macOS, yes. The app runs company sign-in (Okta, Microsoft, Google Workspace) through macOS's own native secure sign-in window, and the result is delivered straight back to the account window that asked for it — nothing to configure.

On Windows, company sign-in, Google and email-link sign-in now reach the right account window too — v2.6 adds this and it's in the current download. It's marked beta while reports from real corporate identity providers come in. Updates are free — re-download from your receipt link any time.
