Where each one wins

Claude Accounts is the pick if you're on Windows (or a mixed Mac + Windows setup), you want to pay less, or you like that the entire source code ships in the download so you can read exactly what runs. One $14 purchase covers both platforms.

Multi-Claude is worth a look if you're Mac-only and you specifically want each account to live as its own separate app icon in your dock and Cmd-Tab list. That's a clean touch if that's how you like to work — and Claude Accounts opens each account in its own window too, just launched from a picker rather than a per-account dock icon.

Is either one against Anthropic's terms?

No — and this matters, so here's the plain version. Anthropic's terms allow you to hold more than one legitimate account (a work one and a personal one, say). What's prohibited is sharing a single login between people or trying to evade usage limits. Neither tool does that: both simply open the official Claude desktop app with a separate data folder per account you already own — the same pattern browsers use for multiple profiles. You stay responsible for following Anthropic's terms on each of your accounts.
